Each channel connects two parties — for example, a lender and borrower, or two clearing counterparts — through remote-signing nodes that enforce the agreed contract logic. Once terms are finalized, collateral movements, margin calls, and repayments occur programmatically and deterministically, without manual intervention or reliance on a trusted third-party.

Unlike public DeFi protocols, Smart ChannelsTM:

  • Don’t expose contract data or capital flows to the world
  • Don’t rely on an illiquid tokenized asset or marketplace
